Good life bad life your choice

I just want to talk to you guys about having obedient hearts! There is something about putting action to what we know we are supposed to do. All of us know right from wrong. You know if you are doing things to make your life good or if you are doing things that are making your life bad.

John 2:1-11
1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."

5His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[a]

7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

8Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

11This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

I love this text.

First get this....This is the first miracle Jesus did. Sure he prophesied over a few people, but until now He hadn't done an amazing feat.

Second. Jesus' mom tells the servants to do as they are told to do.

OK GIRLS

Jesus would not have been able to perform the miracle without their participation!!

This is true in our lives also. So many times we want to see God move and do big things without any action on our parts.

Example: We want God to answer our prayers, but we don't spend anytime reading the word nor praying other than when we want something. We want to have prosperous lives, but we don't tithe. We want to have a family that puts God first, but come Sunday morning we are going to sleep in.

Come on girls let's just get real! You have time for whatever you want to have time for. Let's face it! If I told you that if you would read your Bible for 30 days that you would get one million dollars then you know what? You would read your Bible.

So many times people say...."I just don't have time to go to church or read my Bible"....Ohhh really you have time to watch movies and ohhh you sure find time to eat and brush your teeth. If you have time for those things then you should have time for the word.

You are only going to be as close to God as you choose to be.

There are miracles waiting to happen in your life. You are that water that can be turned into wine, but you hold the key. You have to act. Jesus and the angels are not going to come and make you do what you know is right. You have to submit yourself to God and do what you know you need to do.

When you do you better look out because God will bless your socks off!

I agree with everything you just said! And I screamed a big AMEN with the "you are as close to God as you choose to be". That is so right. I get so frustrated with the "I don't have time", or "I'm too busy" - geeze...

It's all about priority. Loved the post!!
